In april we had a short stay in
the Gaume (a region in the extreme southeast of Belgium. At a lower altitude than the Ardennes, it borders the French region of Lorraine to the south, the Land of Arlon to the east, and the Belgian part of the Ardennes to the north) It has a micro climate, with warmer temperatures than the rest of the area and is a great place for long walks.
Near our gîte in Chantillon, was the source of the tiny river Ton that joins the Chiers to float later on into the river Meuse in France. I followed this watercourse towards Virton and made a small series of drawings on the go. This one's the first, drawn in the garden of our gîte where a beautiful magnolia was blooming that time.
